Who does what

The front door of city government. City Hall handles water accounts, permits, licences, payments, records requests and general questions about anything the city does.

Poplarville treats and delivers drinking water to every tap in the city. Sewer service is contracted through the Pearl River County Utility Authority, which sets its own rates.

The Poplarville Police Department provides patrol, investigation and community policing inside the city limits, working out of the station on West Cumberland Street.

Fire suppression, rescue and fire prevention for the City of Poplarville, with mutual-aid support across Pearl River County.

The crews who keep the water running, the streets drivable and the parks open - water and sewer maintenance, streets, drainage, limb pickup and the city's parks.

Municipal Court hears misdemeanour cases, traffic citations and city ordinance violations issued inside the Poplarville city limits. Court is held at 4:30 p.m. on the second floor of 100 South Main Street.

Permits, inspections, zoning and land-use review, supported by the Poplarville Planning Commission and the city's Code Enforcement Officer.

City Park on Highway 26 West and the Town Green on South Main - open sunrise to sunset, with pavilions and a gazebo available to rent for family gatherings and community events.
