Accessibility statement
This site should work for everyone who needs it. If it does not work for you, tell us and we will fix it.
Our commitment
The City of Poplarville is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What we have done
- Text and background colors are checked for sufficient contrast.
- Every page can be navigated with a keyboard alone, and the focused element is always clearly outlined.
- A “Skip to main content” link appears as soon as you press Tab, so screen reader and keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
- Images that convey information carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Headings are used in a logical order so the page can be navigated by structure.
- Animations are disabled automatically for visitors whose device is set to reduce motion.
- The site is responsive and remains usable when text is enlarged or the screen is small.
Third-party services
Some services we link to are operated by other organizations - for example the online utility payment portal, the Code of Ordinances, and embedded maps. The City does not control the accessibility of those systems. If you have trouble with one of them, contact us and we will help you complete your business another way.
